March 11, 2013

GERMANTOWN, Md., March 11, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Hughes Network Systems, LLC (HUGHES), the global leader in broadband satellite solutions and a leading provider of managed network services, today announced a new enterprise service offering with the largest high-capacity national footprint available in the industry at far lower costs than competing solutions.

Hughes High Capacity Access is ideal for retailers, restaurants, hotels, convenience stores, financial and other large distributed enterprises that need to run bandwidth-hungry applications at their branch sites. Enterprises no longer need to be constrained by slow T1 access or require expensive Ethernet access to deliver high-bandwidth applications such as guest Wi-Fi, on-demand video training and business analytics across their networks.

"Today many enterprises are finding that T1 access (1.5Mbps) just isn't fast enough to support their growing applications," said Mike Cook, senior vice president, North American Division at Hughes. "And Ethernet access is too expensive and often not as widely available as their telecom providers have led them to believe. Our new High Capacity Access service delivers speeds much faster and at a lower price point than T1, and far lower than Ethernet — and unlike Ethernet, it is available everywhere broadband is available."

Hughes High Capacity Access brings enterprises a cost-effective, nationally available high-speed service, scalable up to 12 Mbps, using either cable or fiber where it is available, and DSL where it is not. Hughes ActiveBonding technology intelligently combines multiple DSL links into a single high-capacity connection that allows each application access to the full combined capacity.

Implementing Hughes High Capacity Access is fast and easy. There are no major equipment or expensive network upgrades needed. Hughes manages the network equipment and broadband connections which include cable, fiber and DSL. Like all of Hughes Managed Network Solutions, Hughes High Capacity Access is backed by Hughes comprehensive support which includes installation, maintenance and help-desk.

The service is targeted for general availability at the end of Q1 2013. To learn more about Hughes High Capacity Access, view this short video.
